Is Beagle Street a good life insurance company?

Yes, in many ways Beagle Street is a good life insurance company.

Since 1992, they’ve grown a good reputation among customers and peer groups, particularly for their simplified cover options, quick application process and excellent customer service.

Beagle Street awards:

  • Best Life Insurance Provider’ at YourMoney.com Personal Finance Awards in 2023 (awarded four years in a row)
  • Customer Experience ‘Gold Award’ by The Times Money Mentor in 2022
  • Life Insurance Provider of the Year’ shortlist at the Moneyfacts Group Plc Consumer Awards 2024

While Beagle Street are considered a good life insurance company, they won’t be suitable for all applicants.

For example, those who have complex health issues or needs may not find the online application form quick or easy to use in comparison to someone who’s in perfect health and has a good idea of what cover they need.

In this case, you may find it easier to arrange life insurance over the phone with an expert who can help identify tailored solutions from various insurers.

At Reassured, we specialise in comparing quotes from standard insurers as well as specialists, to help you find the right cover to suit your circumstances.

Beagle Street life insurance policy options

Beagle Street offer standard forms of life insurance which are designed to financially protect your home and family if you were to pass away unexpectedly during a specified term.

Beagle Street life insurance key features:

  • Provides cover for a set term (5 to 40 years depending on your age)
  • Pays out a lump sum if you pass away or are diagnosed with a terminal illness during the term
  • Available to UK residents aged 18 - 64

Choose from two types of cover:

Cover amount (sum assured) remains fixed throughout the policy lifetime. Policy could help protect a mortgage and future living costs for your family.

Cover amount reduces each month throughout the policy lifetime, usually in line with a repayment mortgage.

Beagle Street life insurance can be taken out on a single or joint basis.

A single life insurance policy provides cover for one person, whereas a joint life insurance policy provides cover for two people (for example, you and your partner).

Beagle Street terminal illness cover

Both life insurance policies with Beagle Street include terminal illness cover as standard.

This allows you to make an early claim on your policy if you’re diagnosed with a terminal illness and predicated to pass away within 12 months.

It’s also possible to add critical illness cover to your Beagle Street life insurance policy for an additional cost. We explain critical illness cover below.

Beagle Street critical illness cover

Critical illness cover provides you and your family with financial protection in the event you’re diagnosed with a critical illness during the policy term.

When taking out a Beagle Street life insurance policy, you can choose to add critical illness cover for yourself and/or your children for an additional cost.

Critical illness cover

  • Pays out a lump sum if you’re diagnosed with one of the critical illnesses listed under the policy during the term
  • Covers up to 21 illnesses including cancer, heart attack and stroke
  • Secure between £5,000 and £300,000 of cover
  • Term length must be the same length as your life cover (5 - 40 years)

Child critical illness

  • Provides cover for your children and any future children between the ages of at least 30 days old up to 18 years old
  • Pays out a lump sum of either 25% of your sum assured or £25,000 (whichever is lowest) if your child is diagnosed with one of the critical illnesses listed under the policy
  • Covers up to 21 illnesses including cancer, heart attack and stroke
  • Term length must be the same length as your life cover (5 - 40 years)

With Beagle Street, if you were to add critical illness cover to your life insurance policy and made a critical illness claim within the policy term, this won’t affect your life cover. Your policy will still provide life cover up until the end of your policy term.

Which illnesses are covered by Beagle Street critical illness cover?
